I Thought It Was a Fluke

Last Sunday Adam left a comment saying that my Cari Duit post is 6th in Google search. I thought it was a fluke and didn’t pay any attention to it but it wasn’t. That post is still 6th as of last night at 11:45 PM (the time i wrote this short post). Check out what is the current position now. Maybe it’s gone? Maybe it is still there. Maybe it is number one!

I’m not sure whether it will still be there by 30th June 2007 or not. But it does meet my target to steal some traffic from the competition as it is currently the 3rd most popular post (of this blog) for this week. It this considered evil?

Anyway, what does this mean? This simply means that even though I only have 1 specific post on that keyword, if it is optimized, it will go to the first page of Google. If it is optimized properly, it might even go to number one.

I am only using some of the basics SEO tips, not all of it.
(1) Keyword in title - This is what the spider sees first. First impression always work even in the real world.
(2) Bold it in post - This tell that the highlighted keyword is important to the page, and the spider sees it the same way.
(3) Keyword density - Between 2% and 10%. Less is useless while more is considered as spamming, so becareful. Mine is about 2.2%. Use this tool, if you want to check yours.
(4) Linkback to the post with the keyword - This is the most important one. Do this properly and it will work wonders.

I did not use meta tag or other methods. So, am I a SEO expert now? No lah. I don’t think so. It just shows that it can be learned and it is easy but of course if the search result is above 100 million, you’ll need more than that.

no lah… it just shows that it can be learned and anyone can do it and you don’t need to keep repeating the keyword it all over your blog.

dude, i also have entry ‘cari duit’, although not related with the contest. it’s just coincident that the chatting happen that day. we have the same pr, cari duit is in the title, but look at yours. mine is lost in the search engine wakakaka. i don’t which page hehehe…

I’ve use some of the techniques that you highlighted here.. =) And it works..Since it boost my visitors for last month…hehe..But, still need high PR to achieve more from SE, although I prefer they come by themselves rather than coming from SE..Need some time and effort actually..Pray for me..haha..

Did you know, using images also can boost your traffic? Rename the pics with specific keyword, put the keyword in the alt and title tags, and put some words containing the keyword near the pics..There you are, hehehe.. ^__^

Just look at my blog, it is in English but i still manage to be indexed by Google for the keyword ‘Cari Duit’. However, it does relate in terms of ‘making money’ so in a way, I’m not lying to my potential traffic. But for you, hmmm .. I’m not sure. What is your blogging plans? Who is your target audience? How to apply when you yourself not sure of what your want. Think about that first. If there’s a certain post that u need to promote, do that. Go per post instead of the whole blog.

Keyword Density? This is from wiki :

Keyword density is the percentage of words on a web page that match a specified set of keywords. In the context of search engine optimization keyword density can be used as a factor in determining whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase. Due to the ease of managing keyword density, search engines usually implement other measures of relevancy to prevent unscrupulous webmasters from creating search spam through practices such as keyword stuffing.

Kekerapan keyword tu diulang dalam post kau. Sedang elok is between 2-10%.
