3 Days’ Statistics
September 16th, 2007 at 7:00 am by azwan. Filed under Adsense, Traffic.
Once in a while it’s good to check and do a short review on your own statistics. If you are blogging for fun, then you may not want to do this. If you are blogging for money, especially with Adsense, then traffic itself is an important source of your income. However, Adsense is still not an important part of the blog’s income
To make Adsense an important factor, I have to move to a specific niche and start playing with keywords but .. this blog, being a personal one, it’s a little bit difficult to do that.
Difficult, but not impossible ![]()
Anyway, regarding my statistics. This time I am looking at from where my visitors are coming from. From the stats above, 65% is from Malaysia. It makes sense since lately my post are more related to my country. The 2nd most significant is from USA while the rest are scattered all over the world. I am only displaying the Top 10.
My target for the first year is to have at least 40% from outside Malaysia. From the past 3 days it looks like I am able to achieve that but that’s only for 3 days. It might be different if you look at the whole month or the past 6 months. I don’t know about you but I feel, it’s important that you take a look at your statistics to have a feel of what is going on. Analyzing your site statistics will help you to answer :
- Where (country) is the traffic coming from?
- Which search engines that give you the most traffic?
- What are the keywords that bring people here?
- Which sites, from you link exchange, that drive in the most traffic? Top referrer.
- Which day gets the most traffic, what about other days and what are you going to do about it?
- Which is your top pages?
- Is your traffic growing?
- Which browser is your visitors using? This will help you to work on which browser should you optimized you blog for. As for me, it works in both Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Only your stats will be able to answer that and if you analyze them correctly and work to achieve what you want, it will do wonders. Currently I am only using Google Analytics and StatCounter.
What do you use and what do you use them for?

Google Analytics is a good tool but are we making full use of it?

I think most of the statistics tools out there can do a lot of things already. It’s just a matter of preference don’t you think? I have tried a few, even slimstats, but still go back to those 2. Started with sitemeter but now don’t use it anymore.
i am using google analytic and crazyegg..with crazyegg I will know which is the ‘hot place’ that my visitors always click
Google Analytics has similar option to see the ‘hot place’ you mentioned.. Just login and go to Content and then Site Overlay. Compare it and see which one is better. And why not blog about it
Just using google analytics..
Hm.. just wonder..
how you get the image statistics ??
azwan reply on September 16th, 2007 4:39 pm:
That’s from StatCounter not analytics

azwan reply on September 17th, 2007 12:41 pm:

azwan reply on September 17th, 2007 5:46 pm:
I’m still trying, although a bit tough. If 50, then i can do 100 post per month bro. Once a week still ok but to do it daily, kelakar jugak
