DIY Accidents, Monday’s Story

Found out the next day that the bus lost control and was lying sideways, blocking both side of the expressway. Two people were killed from the double-decker bus crash. If you’re injured or something, you can just go for a plastic surgery to fix it up (if you need to), but when you’re dead, you’re dead.

It was also reported in Utusan Malaysia that the driver has 3 arrest warrants and 19 traffic summons, where 12 is for speeding.

Who is at fault here?

  • The police? For allowing that guy to be on the road, ferrying people.
  • The bus company? For only thinking of revenue above anything else.
  • Or is it PLUS? For the lack of safety precautions. Lane markings were not present on the new surfaces and navigating through the curves is a guessing game.

‘Luckily’ only two died. If there were more, it will be the same story. The Transport Ministry and other relevant authorities will come out with yet another list of ’stupid’ recommendations, but still without enforcement …. and people will continue to die on the roads.

Monday’s Story

This happened on Monday on the way to work, to Prai. Stuck there for almost an hour and it ruined the day :( . No one waiting at the office door except for my boss :P . No ramblings this time, just pictures. Sorry, I was driving at that time.

We are fed with a lot of accident story everyday. This need to be stopped.

sometimes I think…maybe our country does not have havey natural disaster like earthquake, typhoon etc (accept for banjir)…maybe the staggering numbers of accidents are there in the country to balance up with other countries….

Maybe that is the way it should be….
However, let’s hope it will be reduced.

i dont think that is how it works. i am sure this is due to lack of enforcement. just take a look at pirated cds and dvds.

are they (the authorities) really serious about this?

I was at penang yesterday. on the way to Gurney Drive for dinner, aku nampak ramai mamat yg open table tengah jalan. takkan polis/majlis bandataya tak lalau langsung kat jalan tu?

samalah dengan masalah di jalan raya.

Enforcement is one thing. attitude/civic is the other.
I’ve been to several other countries…the accident rate is lower compared to ours…At Europe for instance, the highway has 3 lanes and some of them have no speed limits, but the most of the drivers are not speeding.

attitude/civic is based on what is accepted. kalau kebiasaannya undang-undang tidak diendahkan, it will become a norm.

betapa banyak brek2 tayar di jalan raya…. macam2 kesan tayar yang boleh dilihat…..

itulah fenomena eksiden di mana-mana jua anda berada…

Oh yeah, you have got a very close encounter with accident. Here my place, accidents are more common. I have seen a lot of these accidents but at the time never got a camera with me. Hence I lost all these pictures.
