I Am Officially A Pr0blogger

January 14th, 2008 at 11:07 pm by azwan. Filed under Make Money Online, Ramblings.

Page Rank Zero Blogger la, not pro blogger (yet). Yes, the Evil Queen Google has stripped me off my PR4 and left me naked, … alone … with only PR0. I have nothing to ‘wear’ now. I am really not sure what happened but I think it has to do with either sponsored post reviews and also text link ads.

page rank is now 0

Sponsored Post?

If is it due to sponsored review, I did a few here but it was only like 1 in every 10 post, most of my sponsored reviews are done elsewhere and none that was done here was disclosed. Or is it because I have a few post discussing paid reviews and how to make money from it:

Text Link Advertisement?

I doubt it is due to this (partly yes but not directly) as a lot of bloggers who are selling links are still keeping their PR intact. I think Google is targeting PayPerPost posties. This is the group that are affected most at the moment. But anyway, if you have not tried making money this way and you still have your PR, try these :

  • Text Link Ads - One of the popular monetizing scheme for bloggers. Easy to maintain as you only need to install their plugin. Depending on your traffic and Page Rank, you can earn a lot and the best part is that most advertisers will automatically renew their campaigns monthly. If you are not with TLA yet, help me make money to help you make money.
  • TNX - Works the same way as TLA but according to TNX, their links are more natural and it will be harder for Google to detect. Compared to TLA, installing the script is a little bit difficult for a newbie. I did a short review on TNX before, check it out if you’re interested.
  • LinkWorth - It offers a a combination of TLA and PayPerPost. A little bit difficult to understand at first, but since they made some changes to the account maintenance, everything seems much simpler. Maybe a review of it later. Wait until I make a lot of money from it first.

Sharing My Google Juice?

Or is it due to my generosity in sharing my Google juice. I have a monthly post for my top commentators and maybe Google doesn’t like the idea of sharing their juice.

How does this affect my blog?

So far I do not see any changes except that there’s no more PR4 on the tool bar above. In terms of traffic, it didn’t change much either. I hope it don’t, as other types of income for this blog depends on traffic… and of course clicks :)

A lot of people are monetizing their blogs. It’s either you are lucky to keep your PR or you are not, like me. Monetizing through sponsored reviews and text links, and using PR as a price indicator, are quite lucrative. Blogging part time, I have managed to make at least USD100 per month with both sponsored reviews and text link advertisement. Whatever the reason, there goes my income from this type of monetizing (on this blog).

it’s a ‘menyedapkan hati’ punya statement. anyway, building Page Rank is really not difficult. I got PR3 for this blog and my other merapu blog in 3 months. I will write about it one day.

…but … losing it in one day is much easier :P

Relax bro. It’s not the end of the world. Yes, it will be better if the PR remains. But, we are at their mercy… Sometimes, this is what we call area out of control. We can’t control that. Let’s focus on what you can do = area in your control. If you really maintain and improve, i believe you don’t need the PR.

I wish you, me and our fellow bloggers will be successful…

Nah … mana ada sedih (sangat) ha..ha..ha… anyway, those who make this blog lively are my readers and commentators .. and not Google (they bring the traffic though). you are right, when something is beyond your control, just let it be and focus on the things you can control.

    Hey, it’s a ‘live it’ blog … and i’m livin it :)

Sorry to hear that bro. Have you request to reinstate your PR back to Google. I read somewhere before that they got back their PR as long as they remove the TLA and sponsored review

And PR does not really determine your traffic. Read Jon Leger’s Google Myth (promo sikit ye)

not yet. will do later. got other things to do better than mengadap google

PR does not determine everything, though seems to be the de facto standard measuring the “value” of any domain.

Rumors sez that Google algo changed recently, and does not always show highest pr domain always on top (read TC).

Anyway, welcome to the club (i’ve domains with PR0 too) and good luck dude.

Sorry to hear about that. My oldest blogspot blog dropped from PR5 to PR 4 and the impact on my earnings was immediately felt.

Lost all high paying opps on PPP. PR of other blogs were unchanged meaning those that went down to 0 are still there.

wow…its a big turn over azwan. 4 to 0 is quite big. Mine from 3 to 2 and the other one from 2 to 0. Maybe because of TLA? Oh, now what’s next…

Yes, a big u turn but the traffic still maintains.

Google is doing this to everyone who supports Pay Per Post.
They have a great dislike for them.
Anyway the readers of blogs have gotten so accustom to seeing
their ads that they have quit clicking on them. I think this has to do
with bloggers providing better information on their blogs.
If you can give your readers what they want there isn’t any reason
to click on an ad to find it…At least that was what I was told.
Oh well there are better ways to earn than Google Adsense.

Pay Per Play Is just one of them.
