Make Full Use of Your About Page

I hate it when I stumble upon a good blog, but without an About page. Worst case scenario is having a page, but with the default loren ipsum text, wtf! An about page is important (at least for somebody like me). Even something like (korang faham contoh kan?):

Hi, I am Azwan Hadzree from Malaysia and this blog is all about Fasha Sanda.

Not everybody can write a good post about themselves, but at least and introduction of who you are would be sufficient. You don’t have to write a lengthy post or the history about you from birth till now, but just something to tell people basically what’s your blog’s about. Even if you are using a nickname.

Don’t forget to make full use of your about page too. Include some useful links for your readers like:

The products you are selling, if you have any.
Your ‘advertise here’ page. I haven’t do this yet, but planing to do so . I do accept direct advertising, just not promoting it only.
Links to your most popular articles. This is another way to let your new readers know more about the things you write.
A link to your archive page. Although you already have a link to the archive page, mostly on top, there’s no harm asking your readers to read more of your articles. If you are monetizing your site, traffic is most welcome, right?
A link to contact page.
A link to tell them how to subscribe to your blog and many more

Anyway, to do all that on the first day of blogging, will overkill your blog. Start with a little something about you and your blog and add on to it as time goes by. This is also part of the minor changes that I’m doing to my blog. Check out my updated About page. Other than that, I have also added a terms and conditions page.

So tell me, how do you optimize your about page?

but if syamsul is making $125 per month on banners alone, that’s a lot of money and i should put mine as soon as i got the chance.

No not worry about your english.. just right what you want..that site belong to you and you can make it what ever you want :)..Just like me..I was realize my english is lousy..but the most important thing is..learn as “baby step” one day your english could be better..believe it !

Read..english book, blog or what ever in english..you can exchange books with your friends. you will find it a little difficult in the beginning. But if you take it as a challenge you will be notice that your english has improve remarkably already..:) anyone agree!

my son and daughter are learning science and maths in English. if my english is not good, it will be difficult for me to help them with the school work.
