We got a rude shocked from HR last week when the Payroll Executive sent an email that January’s pay is going to be late. Argghh .. the end of the world? How can this be? Every 27th of the month is supposed to be pay day, but this time the actual date wasn’t confirm. Is this the end of the company? Is the company going broke? Is this the time for the big layoff? EPF Declares 5.8% Dividend

EPF(Employees Provident Fund) is paying a little bit higher than last year’s 5.15% and the rate has been steadily growing since it hit a low of 4.25% in 2002. If it keeps going up in the future, I will be a happy man. Who wouldn’t when the bulk of your savings is in EPF. I want to enjoy the same lifestyle when I retire and to do that, my retirement fund must be able to support my lifestyle. Of course I have other investment other than EPF. I didn’t learn about money in school. School never thought me a single thing about managing money. I usually get RM10 per week, my father never missed that.
