If you go through the products, it’s only selling underwears for men. How much can a store like that make? To tell you the truth, after deducting all the cost, you can easily make a profit about 4 figures monthly. Yes, I’m not kidding.

eBay’s first quarter net income rose to US459.7 million while its revenue rose to US2.19 billion. It’s quarterly net profit posted a 22% rise, topping Wall Street’s average estimate. As at March 31 2008, eBay’s presence spans across 39 countries with about 83.9 million active users worldwide. Imagine if you could sell something for a dollar to only 10% of those active users. Wow!

Selling is easy, but to convince people to buy from you is difficult. In eBay, ratings are important. The higher your rating, the easier for buyers to trust you and buy your products. Basically, ratings are based on :

• Item as described
• Communication
• Shipping Time
• Shipping and Handling Charges

and you will be rated by comparing your 12 months average against eBay’s 12 months average. Failing to be higher than eBay’s average will get your account restricted.

As an example, if your account is restricted is that you will only be allowed to sell 75% of your monthly average. TIPS : to make sure that you will never get a low rating in communication - don’t sell to markets where you don’t understand the language, even if you use a translation software.
