Transformers

This movie has just made Fantastic Four : Rise of the Silver Surfer looked like a Tom & Jerry TV show. You can’t even compare Pirates of the Caribbean to it, and Captain Jack Sparrow’s humor stinks. OK, maybe I am a little bit overboard but I can’t help myself. Any kids of the 80s, from the original generation one (G1), would get as excited as I am when they first announced about Transformers the movie last year. It was like I’m livin it at the movies. I think that’s as close as I can get to see the Autobots and Decepticons in real life.

Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Jazz, Ironhide, Megatron, Starscream, Frenzy and even Scorponok (he’s from the Headmaster’s series). These robots in disguise are more than meets the eye. Michael Bay has really taken Transformers to the next level. From toys to a real live-action movie. It felt like I was reunited with old friends. See .. I’m excited.

Many fans said that it deviated too much from the original G1. The storyline and characters (Bumblebee is supposed to be a Volkswagen and Megatron a gun) are different but I can live with that. Just that I was expecting to see a great fighting scene especially between Optimus Prime and Megatron like any other action movie. The ultimate showdown. There is a lot of action but the fights were too short and not up to my expectations. But overall I did enjoy the movie, it was action from start to end. The most funny part that I liked was when the Autobots were waiting for Sam outside his house while he’s looking for his granddad’s glasses. My Transformers moment is the Optimus Prime stance :

And of course no big boys movie is complete without hot looking girls.

Megan Fox is a Transformers hot star

Planned for a Saturday show but it was fully book. Saw it on Monday (2/7) with wife and will go for a 2nd time this weekend, with kids. I’m sure Starscream will be on Hariz’s left hand while Optimus Prime on his right.

I remembered during my uni days, during a presentation in one of my English class. It was Impromptu if I’m not mistaken and I talked about my hobby that is collecting comics. Some guys and girls were giggling at the back. A grown up but still read comics and also a collector .. what lah. That is my world but now you are living in my world. The movies now are full of comics’ adaptations and more coming. Nuff said.

Zaki, I hope future comics adaptation will be this good. Not like Fantastic Four which is a waste of money, shallow and cheap jokes.

Jangan tunggu lama-lama .. nanti habis .. I don’t think the effect will be the same as in the cinema if you watch DVD and believe if you watch this you would wish that you hadn;t watched Fantastic 4

This is great movie. I can feel that, there would be sequel of this movie later on. Since the Megatron is not really destroyed yet, but only getting into cold spinning sea, the sequence would be maybe an attempt to make it alive again, or maybe the emergence of new decepticon chief. Hehe, this is only my humble guess :)

There’s a plan for Transformers 2 and even Transformers 3. This is a money making movie, no producer would want it to stop there. But i’m not sure what will happen in future sequels. Maybe Starscream leads.
