My HP Notebook Play Dead
My HP Compaq NC6400 has been giving me problems for the pass 3 weeks. First it was the charger. Most if the time it can charge but sometimes the power supply likes to play hide and seek 
. Then after that it was the motherboard. I was able to use my notebook, but at a reduced speed and the battery coudn’t be charged at all. Tried a fresh installation of Spybot and Avira, confirmed bukan virus.
HP’s Support
In terms of support, HP was very slow to response. When my IT technicion called for support, HP said that the charger warranty has expired. So, I proceed to raise a Purchase Requisition, but once the PR was approved, the HP Account Manager said that it is still under warranty. WTF! Time wasted for nothing, but now, I am still waiting for confirmation whether the charger is under warranty or not.
As for the mother board, they are only able to come tomorrow or Tuesday. Damn bloody slow!
HP vs Dell
We also have Dell notebooks, but unlike HP, Dell’s response is outstanding. All the while it is always the next business day for all that are still under warranty. I am not talking about servers here. I am comparing the support for a notebook between HP and Dell.
Anyway, my notebook is still out of commission

Dell support is the best (so far) according to all our clients, especially gov.
Some blacklisted HP, most blacklisted Acer hehehe…
Acer can only win with consumer, not corporate…

HP servers are the best but when it comes to PC and notebook, HP really sucks.
I just spoke with the Tech head, she even said she preferred Dell but since the purchase for this batch is made through open tender, nak buat macam mana?
after the engineer came, looks like i’m getting a new one. the inside lah - mother board & processor. they havent really check the ram and hd .. lembab gila, if this happen in shah alam, aku rasa engineer tu mesti dah malu nak tunjuk muka

coincidentally, i’m getting new notebook tomorrow… x61s… the ugly looking notebook that i wanted for so longg… so bye bye my dell… yay!
i’m dealing with government and private sector in supplying hardware and software… most of them will either buy dell or ibm…
statistically speaking, because both seldom give problem.. unlike hp, acer or whatever other brand…. my own dell, 3 years oledi, no problem at all so far.. my boss ol latitudes, still working well….

how’s ur nb? fixed? ask from the management the new 1 lorr,, just tell them current nb spec no longer enough for you to do your work productively, hence u need a new 1. since u always travel, u need the ultra portable nb

the project manager is also using the same notebook i’m using … so .. rasanya tak patut nak mintak yang lebih bagus dari dia.
lagipun, designation aku tak sama level dengan kau, kira padan lah dengan HP notebook ni je
well dell memang selalu cepat response dia… this morning report paling lewat besok tengah ari dah sampai… tapi dell punya barang selalu rosak…
hp selalu barang ok… jarang rosak.. hairan wpun pasang kat china tapi quality still dijaga… so far am berurusan dengan hp ok ajer… pun cepat.. (hp slalu rosak dia punya ram saja, lain2 ok)
btw both product have 3 year warranty rite…
better untuk use laptop untuk always on… just un plugged battery lah sebab kalau dalam long hours pasang bat and the same time on adapter, bat akan cepat kong…

so far we never hv any problem with Del PCs. There are a few cases n notebooks tapi certain user aje yang got the problem … maybe he lets his kids play with it ?
anyway, kalau unplugged the battery, kalau letrik takde .. data all gone.

memangla all the data gone… so kena berjaga-jagalah… selalukan save kerja… takpun guna UPS - dia save some lektrik untuk sejam gitu… so bila blackout notebook tak off…
bukan selalu blackoutkan… dari bateri kong.. dan tiap kali nak on kena ada power point.. kalau full semua orang guna sakita… cam kat ofis/home nak always on cabut bateri dan kat cafe pakai bateri…
btw.. everyone ada their own opinion lah… so it’s up!!

there’s really a long list pasal ni (pro and cons) .. kalau pakai bateri aje pun, masalah jugak sebab processor akan automatically reduce speed to save on power.
tapi kan … notebook ofis, so tak kisah lah sangat
dulu ada member aku beli compaq. sekali motherboard rosak. aku singgah ke hp bukit damansara. seb baik dia replace motherboard. kalo tak nak mengamuk aku. haha

i think … for any notebook brands, if you are in KL .. it is much easier to get support but for a place like penang/prai dan sewaktu dengannya HP service (notebook/pc suport) really sucks.

Aku ada Dell dgn Acer notebook. Dell mmg ada warranty onsite support, tapi kena memanjang extend la. Tp yg Acer tu klu rosak, rasanya aku kena pegi balik kedai tmpt beli dulu

Uncle, naper pakai Avira….??? it’s really sucks…
Use two antivirus in your computer. i suggest AVG n Avast pro.
AVG for protection stand alone pc n Avast pro will protect your PC against viruses from network and internet.
If you using genuine OS and all aplication in your PC, i suggest you use Bitdefender. Dont use Bitdefender if you installed a pirate aplication or pirate OS.
HP is the best server, kalo Dell it’s little sucks….
tp kalo tech or engineer yg xtau nk manage server to more accurately, pakai mahal2 pun x guna.
Jika tmpt tinggal kite berdekatan ngan cawangan utama bg brand komputer kamu, mmg senang nk dapat replacement brg ganti dgn cepat.
Uncle, beli PC baru lah… skrg harga dh murah. tak mahal cam dulu.

the latest version of Avira is not bad, really! tried it and quite ok. anyway, company dah ada … trend micro kut .. avira tu just to make sure je. it really does scan very fast. i only use one anti virus.
kalau server, memamg HP the best tapi other than that, they have a lot to catch up.

untuk pejabat gomen dulu pakai trend micro la.. skrg tengah peringkat beta guna kaspersky sebab it’s the best lah.. last year 2nd place of best antivirus.. 1st nod32.. this year not32 jatuh ke tangga 8 kot and kaspersky 1st..
not32 sama kaspersky ada ciri yang sama iaitu dia gunakan deep scan… katakan file yang dalam rar or zip folder pun kalau ada virus dia boleh buang sebelum file diextract.. and btw kalau bro nak dapatkan license kaspersky am ada lebih ni.. rm38.. 1 year, ikut harga pasaran lagi.. installer just download kat site dia.. dan license am sms jer..

bukan aku yang decide pasal which anti virus to use. aku pun tak agree sangat dengan infrastructure network company aku sekarang ni, tapi i’m not responsible for it and not my area, so … no need to sibuk-sibuk

ayong dear, laptop dah okay belum? need your help. tak leh upload gambar, well, boleh actually, tapi gambar tu kuar besar giler. Kakngah mana nak reti resize.
