Vangardx, what’s it all about?

Previous review was on Sembang Komputer. Everything related to computers. A niche site. Vangardx.Net is different. It’s a personal non niche blog, somewhat like mine.You can find a big range of topics there. From Proton Saga BLM bodykit, tips on getting sponsorsfor your blog (in Malay) and also topics like suffiah.

He just changed his theme and it looks great. I always like clean white theme so I’m being a bit bias here .. hah ..

Zaki Blogjer has covered most of the technical part, read his review. This is what you get for being the top 3 commentators during the Threesome Contest. Want one, wait for the next

I will only touch on a few things.

The first one is about Monetizing

In terms of monetizing, he makes full use of all the available space while still maintains a clean look. I think that’s the benefit of having a blog in white, the ads will never seem too cluttered.

If any of you have plans to monetized your blog, go for themes that have a lot of white. It’s easy to add ads and they won’t look messy rather than having to adjust ads on a colorful blog, but don’t listen to this if you have no plan to monetize your blog. Unless … unless you are very good in color coordination.

While adding ads is easy, adsense may not work very well with non niche blog, but something like Nuffnang will work just nicely With the kind of traffic his getting, I’m sure his getting a lot from Nuffnang monthly.

Second is on Traffic

One thing good about non niche blog is it’s easy to get traffic. It’s easy to be up-to-date with the latest trends, latest news and the latest happenings. You are not restricted to any specific kind of content and I know Syamsul is really enjoying what he blogs about.

When you blog about everything, there’s your blog when people are looking for it.

The bad thing about non niche site is that the click value can sometimes be very low (for adsense of course).

The third is on the things I Don’t Like

One thing that I don’t like about his blog is the index page. If Syamsul has no plan for the index page scrap it unless he wants that to be a portal or a main page for all his projects, but since he has only one, might as well redirect everything, automatically, to the blog.

Second thing is, earlier I found his topics a little too short and most of the times … I have trouble in getting the points he was trying to convey. However, his posts lately is getting better. That’s a good sign of his maturity in blogging

Hey … it’s a personal blog, I am supposed not to complain … anyway, that’s about it. He will be away for 4 months of military training an I would like to wish him Good Luck!
